Turkish Hammam Towels ~ Five Designs.
For the uninitiated, a Hammam Towel is a flat-woven cotton towel that has been used in traditional Turkish Hammams (bath-houses) for centuries. Light, fluff-free, and simple to pack, the hammam towel is also very easy to wash and dry. Unlike traditional towels, which can stiffen and become scratchy with repeated washing, a hammam towel becomes softer over time.
A hammam towel weighs around a third of the weight of a similar-sized terry towel, but has the same level of absorbency - perfect for trips to the beach or for going on holiday. Other uses away from the bathroom include as a summer throw, a shawl, or a picnic blanket - we've even seen them used at tableclothes!
